An Annual Celebration of Wetlands Conservation: Kendall-Frost Marsh Reserve, Saturday, February 7th, 2026 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Love Your Wetlands Day is an opportunity to explore UC San Diego’s protected Kendall-Frost Marsh Reserve in Mission Bay while also learning about the importance of coastal wetlands, the climate threats they face, and the ways local communities are working to restore and protect them.
El Día de Amar tus Humedales es una oportunidad para explorar la Reserva Protegida Kendall-Frost Marsh de UC San Diego, ubicada en Mission Bay, mientras aprendes sobre la importancia de los humedales costeros, las amenazas climáticas que enfrentan y las formas en que las comunidades locales están trabajando para restaurarlos y protegerlos.
Uniquely located in the densely populated urban area, Kendall-Frost Marsh is a valuable laboratory and popular component of the University of California’s Natural Reserve System, a library of ecosystems throughout California representing most of the state's major habitats. Much of Mission Bay was tidal wetlands until recently, and the ReWild Mission Bay project is working to restore this habitat - restoring Kendall-Frost Marsh to its former incredibly resilient and useful acreage.

PARKING | ESTACIONAMIENTO
Free parking and free shuttles will be available from Crown Point Park North, 3700 Corona Oriente Road, located about ¾ of a mile from Kendall-Frost Marsh Reserve. Shuttle service will run from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Street parking is available but very limited.

This public acknowledgment serves to honor and respect Indigenous peoples and their land on which our campus resides. UC San Diego was built upon the territory of the Kumeyaay Nation. From time immemorial, the Kumeyaay people have been a part of this land. Today, the Kumeyaay people continue to maintain their political sovereignty and cultural traditions as vital members of the San Diego community.
