Amie Beth Aguiar
Amie discovered her passion for birds while completing her Master’s research on the foraging and behavioral ecology of wading birds in the marshes of Virginia’s Eastern Shore. After a decade as a federal contractor supporting Clean Air Act and Clean Water Act policy, she relocated to San Diego, where she began working with California Least Terns (CLTE) and Western Snowy Plovers (WSPL) at local military bases, rekindling her love for avian conservation.
Since then, she has worked with CLTE and WSPL across sites in San Diego and Orange Counties. Her interests include conservation management, behavioral ecology, and exploring new places. She’ll happily admit she’s a full‑fledged “bird nerd”.
